OKLAHOMA CITY – In yet another demonstration of the “Oklahoma Standard,” volunteers have made great efforts to help transport those impacted by the recent storms to Sunday’s prayer service at First Baptist Church in Moore.
The Office of Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, along with other local and state officials who have donated their time and resources, have come together to give every displaced storm victim the opportunity to attend the “Oklahoma Strong: Coming Together in Faith” prayer service.
The governor’s office, the Oklahoma State Department of Education, state officials and local municipal and district officials have worked to finalize transportation to and from the prayer service for storm victims from the communities of Carney, Wellston, Luther, Chandler, Meeker, Prague, Shawnee, Bethel Acres, Little Axe, Newcastle and Moore.
For those in the Luther, Wellston, Carney, Chandler, Meeker and Prague communities, three buses are picking up storm victims at the Carney Fire Station. The buses arrive at 3 p.m. and depart at 4 p.m.
For those in the Shawnee Community, three buses are picking up storm victims at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. The buses arrive at 3:30 p.m. and depart at 4:10 p.m.
One bus and one handicap accessible bus is available for Bethel Acres residents at Bethel Acres High School gym. The buses arrive at 3 p.m. with a departure of 4 p.m.
Little Axe residents have one bus picking up residents at the Little Axe Elementary School. The bus arrives at 3:30 p.m. and departs at 4:20 p.m.
One bus and one handicap accessible bus is available for Newcastle residents at Newcastle High School. The buses arrive at 4 p.m. with a departure of 4:20 p.m.
For victims from the Norman area, three buses and one handicap accessible bus are available at the bottom of Walker Tower on the University of Oklahoma campus. The buses arrive at 3:30 p.m. and include multiple pickup and drop-offs.
One bus and one handicap accessible bus is available for Oklahoma City residents at Oklahoma City University. The buses arrive at 3:30 p.m. with a departure of 4:30 p.m.
Two buses will transport residents of Moore from the Moore Community Center. The buses arrive at 4 p.m. and depart at 4:40 p.m.
