OKLAHOMA CITY – Governor Mary Fallin has made the following appointments to various agencies, boards and commissions.
Environmental Quality Board
Billy Sims, of Mountain View, is president of the Oklahoma Rural Water Association. He previously served on the board of directors at Caddo County Rural Water District Number Three. Sims is being reappointed to the board and will serve a five-year term pending confirmation from the Oklahoma Senate.
Loretta Turner, of Broken Arrow, is a client service manager at Weston Solutions, an integrated environmental and property redevelopment company. She currently serves as a trustee on the Tulsa Engineering Foundation and as a board member on the Society of American Military Engineers. Turner received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. She is replacing Kerry Sublette, who resigned, and will serve a five-year term pending confirmation from the Oklahoma Senate.
Shannon Ferrell, of Stillwater, is an associate professor of agricultural law at Oklahoma State University. He currently serves on the board for the American Agricultural Law Association, on the executive council of the Western Agricultural Economics Association and as a member of the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service. Ferrell received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Oklahoma State University and a law degree from Oklahoma City University. He is replacing Mike Cassidy, who resigned, pending confirmation from the Oklahoma Senate
State Board of Health
Dr. Jenny Alexopulos, of Tulsa, is the medical director and director of medical education at the Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa. She currently serves on the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians Scholarship and Student Loan Committee. Alexopulos received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Western Ontario, London, and her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Kirksville College in Kirksville, Mo. She is being reappointed to the board and will serve a nine-year term pending confirmation from the Oklahoma Senate.
State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners
Keith Fuchs, of Elk City, is a veterinarian at Western Animal Hospital. He previously served on the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association Executive Board of Directors. Fuchs received a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University. He is replacing Frank Denny and will serve a five-year term pending confirmation from the Oklahoma Senate.
Indigent Defense System Board
Patrick Cornell, of Clinton, is an attorney and also serves as Clinton’s municipal judge. He previously served as the mayor of Clinton. Cornell received his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Oklahoma. He is replacing Randolph Meacham and will serve a five-year term pending confirmation from the Oklahoma Senate.
Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Board
Gail Wood, of Edmond, is the federal programs administrator for the Stonewall School District. She currently serves as the secretary for the Stonewall-McLish Education Foundation and as vice chair of the board of directors of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Wood previously served as the vice chair of the Pontotoc Coalition for a Drug Free County, She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from East Central University. She also completed a principal’s certification program at East Central. Wood is being reappointed to the board and will serve a seven-year term pending confirmation from the Oklahoma Senate.
Quartz Mountain Arts and Conference Center and Nature Park Board of Trustees
Julie Cohen, of Norman, is the president and chief executive officer of Oklahoma Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain. She previously served as the director of landscaping at the University of Oklahoma. Cohen received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colo., and a doctorate from Tulane University in New Orleans. She is being reappointed and will serve a seven-year term pending confirmation from the Oklahoma Senate.
State Banking Board
Bradley Krieger, of Edmond, is executive vice president and regional manager for Arvest Bank in Oklahoma and Kansas. He also serves on the American Bankers Association Community Bankers Council, is a past president of the Oklahoma Bankers Association, and is vice chairman of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber and a director of the Oklahoma State Chamber. Krieger received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois. He is being reappointed to the board for a six-year term pending confirmation from the Oklahoma Senate.
Tourism and Recreation Commission
Ronda Roush, of Tulsa, owns Ronda Roush Studio, a hand-painted porcelain glass studio. She is a member of International Porcelain Painters and her works have been selected for use as commemorative giftware by various national organizations. Roush previously served in the Tulsa Boys’ Home Auxiliary and the Junior League of Tulsa. She also was among the group of citizens who started the Friends of the Mansion program. Roush earned a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Oklahoma. She is being reappointed to the commission and will serve a six-year term pending confirmation from the Oklahoma Senate.
